Ryan Sessegnon is reportedly set to miss up to six weeks of action after the fullback suffered a hamstring injury in training before Tottenham’s 4-1 loss to Leicester City.
According to Football London, the north London side will be without another first-team regular after news broke during the week that Hugo Lloris will be for at least two months, with Sessegnon now joining the Tottenham captain on the injury table.
Spurs misses both players this weekend at the King Power Stadium as Tottenham were played off the park by Leicester in a 4-1 loss against the Foxes, a result that will come as a major blow for Antonio Conte’s hopes of a top-four finish despite Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United also dropping points.
Sessegnon, who Tottenham signed from Fulham in 2019 for £25m, has been a regular for Tottenham this season with the attacking fullback making 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting another in what has been a mixed campaign for the England youth international.

Whilst Ivan Perisic has been the regular left-sided wingback for Tottenham this season, Sessegnon being out through injury is a massive blow for Spurs ahead of what is to be a crucial period of the campaign for the north London side, with the UEFA Champions League returning this month.
Indeed, with Sheffield United in the FA Cup also on the horizon, losing out on a valuable squad player like Sessegnon through injury could be massive. And for Conte, a lack of depth out on the length could see Perisic over-play himself into a problem
Sessegnon injury could send a ripple effect through the entire squad.

As mentioned, Sessegnon’s injury could cause some major problems for Perisic, with the Croatian international now likely to play a majority of games all the way until the final whistle with Conte now lacking a substantial replacement for the veteran winger.
Whilst some players could adapt to the role, Sessegnon missing the next six weeks could send huge shockwave around the Tottenham team that could result in some major injuries, with a Perisic or another defender going down something that will be a huge blow for the north London side.
