Tottenham Hotspur have been listed as contenders to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey in January by bookmakers Bet Victor.

Bailey has been strongly linked with move to Chelsea this winter, and the Blues are heavy favourites for his signature at 2/1.

But despite the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona also being credited with interest in the Jamaican, it is Tottenham who are next on the list – alongside north London rivals, Arsenal – at 8/1, and a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s team would certainly make sense.

Bailey’s position is one in which Tottenham are lacking in depth – although Pochettino has often preferred a winger-less 3-4-2-1 system this season – while Sky Sports reported in October that Leverkusen are one of four clubs on which Spurs scouts are focusing, along with Ajax, Hoffenheim and Monaco.

The 20-year-old only moved to the German side from Genk in the summer and has scored or created nine goals in 13 appearances for his new employers.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have already seen a £22 million offer turned down for Bailey.
