Vincent Janssen joined Tottenham Hotspur from AZ in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Vincent Janssen from AZ in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham had to pay the Dutch club as much as £18.5 million in transfer fees in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old striker.

The Netherlands international arrived at White Hart Lane with a strong reputation and was expected to ease the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane.

However, the youngster is struggling for goals at the moment and is not in great form.

As the Opta Stats table below shows, Janssen is working hard and is trying to make things happen, but he is simply unable to find the net.

Janssen needs to step up his game after the international break and has to start scoring goals.

If Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino continues his policy of playing one striker up front, then as soon as Kane recovers full fitness, the England international will take the spot in the starting lineup.

Janssen has to prove to Pochettino that he can play up front on his own, or at least make the Spurs boss think about deploying two strikers.

The Dutchman needs to step up his game and score as soon as possible in order to boost his own confidence.
