Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama has admitted to Capital Sport that playing at the Wembley Stadium does not feel like home.
Spurs are playing their home games in the Champions League at Wembley in London.
Things are not going well for the North London outfit in Europe’s premier club competition.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are third in Champions League Group E at the moment with four points from as many matches.
Tottenham are four points behind leaders AS Monaco and two behind second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
Wanyama has admitted that Spurs do not feel at home playing at Wembley.
“Somehow it is affecting us but not that much because the only difference is it does not feel at home,” the 25-year-old told Capital Sport regarding playing at Wembley.
“The atmosphere at the Lane and Wembley are different. At the Lane, we feel more at home and the support is much more compared to Wembley.”
It is not easy to play home matches in a different stadium, and one can understand why Tottenham are finding it hard at Wembley at the moment.
The Premier League side, though, can still progress to the last 16 of the Champions League this season.
Tottenham will return to action next weekend when they take on West Ham United at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Spurs are fifth in the league table at the moment with 21 points from 11 matches.
