Toby Alderweireld has been one fo the best performers for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur in recent seasons.

For some while now, Toby Alderweireld’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has come into question, with a number of big-name clubs expressing their interest in his services.
Alderweireld moving from one Champions League club in Spurs to another elsewhere in Europe is logical because it isn’t a step-down, but it is if he were to make a reported transfer to Roma.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb have claimed that Roma are interested in signing Alderweireld this summer and have filed recent reports about the player.
Whilst Roma are a huge club in Italy, they are not playing Champions League football, and the likelihood of them dethroning champions Juventus from top-spot in Serie A is pretty slim. Therefore, what will he be going for? Some Pizza under the sun?
Simply put, serious questions would need to be asked if Alderweireld were to make that switch, but truth be told, Mauricio Pochettino and Co will not be stressing one bit.

The new Premier League season is edging closer, and it is looking more and more likely that the Belgian will still be at the club next season.
If that is the case then it’ll be a huge boost for the North London outfit, who will be looking to take the next step under Pochettino after reaching the Champions League final in Madrid.
Anything can happen in today’s inflated and chaotic transfer market, and if Alderweireld were to move then he would make a switch to a more established European club rather than taking a trip down Europa League road with Roma.
