Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on the Napoli youngster, but snapping him up could be difficult.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Napoli’s Amadou Diawara in the summer, but their task of signing the midfielder may just have become tougher.

Spurs are said to be willing to pay £33 million for the youngster by TuttoMercato, but doing so may be easier said than done.

Diawara was Napoli’s hero at the weekend, as he kept the fight for the Serie A title alive in dramatic circumstances.

Napoli are Juventus’ nearest rivals for the Italian league, but it looked as if they were about to lose to Chievo.

However, Diawara completed a late turn around for Napoli, by scoring in the last minute of injury time, and that goal could be bad news for Spurs.

Diawara has been nothing more than a back-up player for Napoli so far this campaign, but he may just have forced his way into Maurizio Sarri’s side’s starting line-up now.

Even if he hasn’t, Spurs will surely have to pay more for the talent, after his major impact.

Diawara had been little more than a bright prospect before, but his goal is sure to have enhanced his reputation.

And Spurs could now face either paying a higher price or simply seeing their interest fended off by Napoli.

Diawara could have been an exciting addition for Tottenham, but Mauricio Pochettino may be hoping that the 20-year-old does not make any more decisive impacts between now and the end of the season.
