Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Tanguy Ndombele will be looking to make his mark in the Premier League next season.

There have been a lot of comparisons between Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Tanguy Ndombele and the now departed Spurs favourite Mousa Dembele, and rightly so.

Both players are unbelievably strong on the ball, and they have this great ability to take the ball out of tight situations with relative ease and drive through the midfield.

But among the vast amounts of qualities Dembele, who moved to China for £11 million in January [Guardian], had in his locker, one thing he couldn’t do was put the ball into the back of the net.

During his time at White Hart Lane, he scored 10 goals in 249 games in all competitions [transfermrkt], which nowhere near matched his ability on the ball.

There are many areas where Ndomebele has been compared with Dembele, but he’ll want it to stop when it comes to goalscoring, even though he has also lacked bite in front of goal himself at his previous clubs such as Lyon and SC Amiens – he has six goals in 130 games.

But if the 22-year-old can be more active in the goal market than the Belgian was during his time in North London then it’ll make him one of the best midfield players in the country and virtually unstoppable.

Not only would it make him a serious threat, but it would add so much to Tottenham’s game and provide them with that added edge they have been craving for.

Premier League champions Manchester City arguably have the best midfield in the country, but if Ndombele can come in and produce the all-round goods then Spurs might have a shout that they could be as good as anyone on their day.

The new Premier League campaign is around the corner, and for once during a transfer window, Spurs are looking strong as they push for some silverware under Mauricio Pochettino.
