Tottenham Hotspur’s chief football officer Scott Munn has praised the club’s recruitment staff ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham enjoyed a superb window last summer.
Ange Postecoglou came in and Tottenham backed him with some outstanding signings who have made a huge impact this season.
Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson have all had fine seasons and should help Tottenham go forward for years to come.
They have all been great fits under Postecoglou and could yet help secure Champions League qualification for next season.
Scott Munn on Tottenham recruitment
Tottenham were somewhat aided by Harry Kane’s exit, allowing the late signing of winger Johnson.
Champions League money would be absolutely crucial for Tottenham’s spending plans and they may need two separate lists right now.
One would be for qualification into the Champions League and would be for alternative targets if they miss out.
Tottenham’s chief football officer Scott Munn has now spoken to Optus Sport in his native Australia and has offered praise to the Spurs recruitment team.
Munn started out by suggesting that that the full focus on the end of the season, but some inside Tottenham are already working on next term.
Munn called Tottenham’s behind-the-scenes team ‘amazing’, suggesting that they and Postecoglou are doing truly ‘amazing’ work right now.

The former City Football Group man offered up praise to Daniel Levy too, suggesting that the Tottenham chairman offers invaluable experience after so long in the game.
Munn hailed technical director Johan Lange and chief scout Rob Mackenzie, believing that both really understand the Tottenham DNA and are so well-prepared for transfer windows.
“I think one of the great things is that we’ve got an amazing team and we’ve got a technical team that are absolutely focused on this season and are unwavering and Ange and his team are doing wonderful things, but they’re also focused on finishing this season. Then we have our tours team and people who are already looking at next season, so it’s just keeping people focused on the roles they’ve got and making sure that we can be the best we possibly can be.
“One of the wonderful things for us is that clearly Daniel has been around for a long time now, 20 years. I would probably say one of the most experienced global administrators in transfer windows and you see that. I’m able to see that first hand and then we’re supported by an amazing team, Rob Mackenzie our chief scout, Johan Lange, who is our technical director.”
“They’re incredibly well prepared, two guys who understand the DNA of the club, Rob previously worked with us before returning as chief scout. I think it’s just about preparing, making sure we’re all aligned and then executing our plan and we saw that in the last window. We went early, signed the players that we wanted early and we think they’ve fitted in well with the team and are performing on the pitch,” he added.
Tottenham do already have one signing secured for the summer as Djurgarden midfielder Lucas Bergvall will be arriving.
The 18-year-old is a huge talent for the future and Spurs appear to have pulled off a huge coup by bringing him in.
Lange and Mackenzie must now work to find other signings for Tottenham, and it sounds like Munn is backing them all the way.
