Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko believes his international midfield partner will come good.
Paul Pogba is not the only player dealing with a big price tag this season.
Admittedly Pogba’s £89 million transfer fee is the biggest ever in world football, but international teammate Moussa Sissoko has a substantial £30 million tag to live up to too.
Sissoko signed for Tottenham on transfer deadline day from Newcastle United, and has had mixed success so far.
France’s players Paul Pogba and Moussa Sissoko during training
Quizzed about his France teammate Pogba by Footmercato, Sissoko imparted advice which perhaps he would not applying to himself, regarding recent criticism of his own displays, whenever his fee is mentioned.
He said: “I think we expect too much of Paul. Admittedly, this is a great player who can shine for his team, but he is not alone in the field. I think we should be less hard on him.
“Let him work. He works well. He is aware of its potential, his talents, what he can and should do. Paul feels good with us and the club. I’m sure we will see a big Paul Pogba with the France team and Manchester United during the season.”
Manchester United’s Paul Pogba scores their third goal
Pogba scored his second Premier League goal for Manchester United at the weekend, and has four to his name in all competitions for the Red Devils. At just 23 there is certainly much more to come.
Regarding his own transfer and progress, Sissoko commented that he is convinced he made the right move in making the switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

He said: “I think the English league is the one that is closest to my qualities. The fact I stayed there was a very good thing for me because I know this championship.
“I have the chance to play for a great English club. I am happy. It will be up to me to give everything to make a great season individually and collectively.”
Sissoko missed the weekend game with Arsenal through suspension, last featuring in their Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
