Tottenham Hotspur Luke Amos has admitted that it has been ‘tough’ for him during these last nine months because he has had to battle injury as he will be looking to express that frustration in a good way at Queens Park Rangers.

QPR announced on their official website on Monday that the Spurs midfielder has signed for the club on a season-long loan, as makes the switch from the Premier League to the Championship.

Last summer, Amos was part of Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season plans, as the midfielder impressed one and all. It resulted in him making his league debut on the opening day of last season, but an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury last September stagnated his progress.

Following his temporary transfer to Loftus Road, Amos shared his honest thoughts on his recent struggles and how he is now raring to go ahead of the new season.

“It has been a tough nine months but I am really excited now,” Amos told QPR’s official website. “I haven’t wasted a day in that whole time. I feel physically fit and the next step for me is being back in games and that’s something I am looking forward to.

“I feel like I was hungry to succeed before – but now I am absolutely starving! It has been such a tough journey and I want it now more than ever.

“I want to enjoy my football but that enjoyment comes from winning lots of games and playing lots of games, so that’s my target.”

Amos has made the right move in making a loan switch and that to a club where he will earn valuable game time ahead of the new season.

The injury has stopped him from pushing into Tottenham’s starting XI, and Oliver Skipp’s rise last term is proof that Amos would have been in and around the squad had he not suffered injury.

But with Spurs seemingly looking to spend this summer, he is understandably going to fall even further down the pecking order and if he can make a name for himself at QPR then it will do him the world of good.
