Tottenham Hotspur’s Kaziah Sterling looking forward to facing former teammates

Tottenham Hotspur’s development squad are due to take on Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy later this evening.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Kaziah Sterling has told the club’s official website that he is looking forward to taking on former teammates Anton Walkes and Luke McGee this evening.

And Sterling is expecting a tough game against the League One leaders.

He said: “We know a few of their players already like Anton and Luke McGee, with them having been with us before they moved on. It would be great to play against them. They’re very good players, but we just have to prove on the night that we have enough talent to make the difference.”

Both Walkes and McGee were sold by Spurs recently, with Mauricio Pochettino not deeming them good enough for the first-team at Tottenham.

The pair have impressed at League One level though, with both developing well at Portsmouth.

Sterling looks likely to start for Spurs’ development squad this evening at Fratton Park.

Tottenham have played two games in the Checkatrade Trophy so far, winning one and drawing one.
