Tottenham defender is set to return ahead of league opener.

Tottenham Hotspur’s second string were beaten 4-1 by Girona at the weekend, highlighting the need for their top stars to return.
Fortunately help is at hand, with Jan Vertonghen declaring news of his imminent comeback last night.
Vertonghen has been on holiday after his World Cup stint with Belgium carried on until mid-July as the Red Devils reached the semi-finals, as did Harry Kane’s England.
Last night Vertongen used Instagram to announce he has returned to England, ahead of resuming training with Tottenham.
The centre-back has a week to re-adjust and get up to speed before Tottenham kick off their Premier League opener against Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime.
Tottenham need him back and ready to start, with doubts over the status of international and club pal Toby Alderweireld amid ongoing transfer speculation.
Spurs won 2-0 away at Newcastle last season, also a match which took place on the opening weekend of the campaign.
