Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s initial asking price for Christian Eriksen is looking laughable now.

The London Evening Standard have reported how Spurs went into the transfer window wanting £130 million for Eriksen, but that transfer valuation looks like it will have to be slashed now.

Spurs have, perhaps, not received the interest that they were expecting in Eriksen so far this summer.

The Dane went out and publicly stated that he was open to a move away from Tottenham and it was widely expected that there would be a surge of interest in the playmaker.

However, the Telegraph report that both Juventus and Real Madrid failed to even submit one bid for him.

United now looks like Eriksen’s best option, and with just days left to go in the transfer window, Spurs are hardly in a good negotiating position.

Eriksen has not penned a new contract, meaning clubs know that he will be available for free next summer.

Spurs cannot afford to just allow Eriksen to run his contract down, and miss out on a potentially lucrative sale, but Levy is now on the back foot in the transfer dealings for the Dane.

The Telegraph even suggest that Tottenham are now waiting for bids to come in for Eriksen of under £50 million, as buying clubs know that they hold the advantage.

And it seems that this particular transfer has not gone according to plan for master negotiator Levy, as his initial valuation of the Spurs man now looks way wide of the mark.
