The England Under-21 international made the comments during a recent visit to a local school, claims the British paper.
One kid at the school asked Kane: “I’ve got a question: If Man United gave you a contract, would you go?”
This was the Spurs star’s reply: “No. I’m a Tottenham player.”
Kane’s reply was to the point and without hesitancy, but both the question and the answer raise two discussing points.
Should Manchester United move for Harry Kane?
United have some big-name strikers, but they are not looking particularly convincing at the moment.
England international Wayne Rooney has often been deployed in a deeper role, Robin van Persie seems to be past his prime and Radamel Falcao has been struggling all season.
In fact, given that the Colombia international is currently on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco, he may not even be part of Louis van Gaal’s team for the 2015-16 campaign.
United do have an up-and-coming striker in James Wilson, who at the age of 19 is looking very promising.
However, the Manchester outfit may need to reinforce their strike-force in the summer, and Kane could be the one they look to.
The England Under-21 international striker has scored 22 goals in all competitions so far this season, including 12 in the Premier League.
Although Kane has been playing regular Premier League football for only a few months, he has shown his quality and is likely to raise his game even higher.
Should Harry Kane join Manchester United?
Kane is enjoying life at Tottenham, for whom he is having a breakthrough season. The Englishman has spoken of his love for the North London outfit on many occasions, and he is indeed very happy at White Hart Lane.
United are the biggest club in England and joining the Red Devils would be a huge step-up for Kane, but at the moment his career is best served by remaining at White Hart Lane.
Kane, who recently signed a new contract at Spurs, is working under a manager – Mauricio Pochettino – who has put faith in young players and is happy to help them grow.
Tottenham have a young squad and Kane is growing as a footballer with it.
