Tottenham ace was surprised by demand when he first signed.

Erik Lamela is into his fifth season as a Tottenham Hotspur player and he looks more comfortable than ever.
The Argentine has scored six goals already for Spurs and is on course for his best season yet.
As Tottenham supporters know well, success has not come easy for Lamela at Spurs and he started poorly.
Part of his issue was the cultural adaption.
Lamela was only 21 when he signed for Spurs and had previously played in Italy, leaving Argentina in 2011 for Roma.

Parts of signing for an English club were alien to him, including the tradition of players getting younger academy players to clean their boots.
Lamela this week told Argentine outlet TyC Sports this was something he was not familiar with, and made him feel uncomfortable.
He said: “It’s a tradition and I did not know it. I refused when I found out.”
Lamela is fast becoming part of the furniture at Tottenham now and looks more settled than ever.
Now 26, he is on course to finally fulfil his potential and will be one of the teams top stars when their new stadium opens.
