Everton are said to be trying to sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose this summer.

The Daily Mirror have reported how Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has hinted that he could leave White Hart Lane, amid links with Everton.

The Toffees are said to be keen to snap up Rose, and the 28-year-old’s recent comments offer hope to Marco Silva’s side that a deal could be possible.

Rose was speaking after representing England in the Nations League, and suggested that Tottenham could look to move him on this summer.

“If I am [at Tottenham next season], great. If not, great,” Rose said.

“It’s no secret I’ve been linked with a move in the media, and it’s the club’s policy to move players on when they reach a certain age.”

In truth, Rose’s only chance of signing for Everton is likely to come if Lucas Digne leaves.

Everton won’t want to sell the French international, but he has enjoyed a brilliant debut season, and will no doubt be drawing admiring glances.

Tottenham, meanwhile, could look to move Rose on while they could still demand a big fee for him.

Rose, who is on a £60,000-a-week contract at Spurs (Spotrac), is still the right side of 30, and remains one of the finest left-backs in the Premier League.

Tottenham have played Rose regularly over the past campaign, and if he was to leave, Mauricio Pochettino would have to buy well to replace him.
