Stacking up the performance of the defenders who featured, by adding up their various selected attributes, Fazio was the best Tottenham star in the backline.
Fazio’s display was well matched by defender Vlad Chiriches too, playing out of position once again at right-back. The difference in their performances by the above metrics were the Argentine’s two aerial duels won, with the Romanian failing to come out on top in any.
Vertonghen’s display was worrying, for errors aside even, he made few positive defensive contributions in the defeat.
