The England under-19 striker has been on loan at Southend United.
Southend United boss Phil Brown confirmed yesterday to Southend’s official website that Tottenham striker Shaq Coulthirst had returned to the London club after a spell on loan at the League Two outfit.
“It was something which was in the pipeline. Spurs were going to recall him in a bid to get a contract at Tottenham or somewhere else.
“I just couldn’t guarantee that he would get plenty of first-team football here.
“He’s been outstanding in the way he has conducted himself during his time at Southend United and I would like to wish him the very best in his future career.”
Of course the game had already been given away regarding the end of his loan spell at Roots Hall, a spell in which he scored four goals in 25 games.
The talented striker bagged two goals on Tuesday in a 4-0 under-21 win against Everton, so it was no secret that he had returned to Hotspur Way.
Now the player has sent out a message on Instagram about his return to Tottenham. After scoring the brace he has sent this message to his followers, stating:
Tottenham have brought through plenty of young players recently. The likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb are all regulars in the first-team nowadays.
Coulthirst however has still not received his first-team bow at the club despite his definite promise. In fact, after shining at the now defunct NextGen series a couple of years ago, he was even linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona along with Alex Pritchard back in November 2012 by The Metro.
Now he will be hoping to push on and follow in the footsteps of the recent graduates from the Tottenham academy.
