Tottenham Hotspur youngster’s 2019 is off to the best possible start.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards scored his first career goal at the weekend out on loan at Excelsior.
Edwards netted to give Excelsior a chance after they fell 2-0 down in the first half against Vitesse. They went onto lose 3-2.
The Tottenham youngster is regarded as arguably the clubs most talented youngster but he has failed to win over Mauricio Pochettino. A disastrous loan at Norwich City last season set him back.
This season began well at Excelsior after he provided an assist and was named in the Eredivisie team of the week back in September.
He failed to build on that early start in the struggling team, who sit in 16th place – in the relegation zone.
This Friday was Edwards’ first game since the winter break in the Eredivisie. His team may have lost, but on an individual level it was a great way for him to get back on track.
Edwards also created three chances, more than any of his teammates.
While it’s just a small step, Edwards will hope to follow this up and make 2019 his year to shine and finally show what he is capable of.
