Tottenham Hotspur are said to have made contact with Barcelona over signing Malcom this summer.

Malcom during the match between FC Barcelona angd Getafe, corresponding to the round 37 of the Liga Santander, played at the Camp Nou Stadium, on 12th May 2019, in Barcelona, Spain.

Tottenham Hotspur would be taking a risk by signing Malcom now, given his poor form at Barcelona.

AS Sport have suggested that Tottenham have now made contact with Barca over signing Malcom from them this summer.

However, the transfer looks a considerably bigger gamble for Spurs this year than it did when they were last linked.

Spurs wanted to sign Malcom from Bordeaux back in 2018, after he had torn apart Ligue 1, and at that time the Brazilian would have been a brilliant season.

However, Malcom opted to move to the Nou Camp and things have not worked out as planned.

Malcom has been well short of form in Spain, meaning Tottenham would now be bringing in a player very short on confidence.

Although great players have failed to make the grade at Barcelona before, it remains to be seen the damage that Malcom’s spell with the Catalan side will have done to his career.

The 22-year-old is young enough to recover, but Spurs need players who are capable of making an impact on their first-team immediately.

And if Spurs were to invest a sizeable chunk of their budget on buying Malcom they would be taking a big risk, as there is no guarantees that the forward would hit the ground running at White Hart Lane.
