Journalist Tim Spiers has written in The Athletic that Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘edging closer’ to agreeing a deal over Adama Traore.
The report in The Athletic has claimed that Tottenham have had an offer of £15 million for Traore turned down by Wolves.
Wolves are looking for £20 million for the former Aston Villa winger, according to the report, which has added that ‘there’s an expectation among senior figures at Wolves that an agreement will be reached’.
Exciting Adama Traore update for Tottenham Hotspur fans
Spiers is a very experienced and well-respected journalist who has close connections at Wolves.
In our view, it is very exciting for Tottenham fans that Traore is now reportedly about to join the club.
Now, of course, we know that there can be twists and turns in any transfer discussions.

However, if £5 million more is all that it would take Spurs to sign Traore, then club chairman Daniel Levy should it done.
Now.
There is no point in Tottenham trying to negotiate at this stage of the January transfer window.
In our opinion, the more time Conte gets to work with Traore, the better it will be for Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the Premier League top four.
Spurs are doing well at the moment and are very much in the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.
