Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing for life without Ruben Neves – and that may mean signing Tottenham Hotspur target Alex Scott from Bristol City.
That’s according to TalkSPORT, who claim that Wolves are now anticipating offers for Neves at the end of the season.
It’s stated that there have been no talks over a new contract for Neves, whose current deal ends in the summer of 2024.
That means Wolves are running out of time to get a decent fee for Neves before he leaves for nothing in less than 18 months.
The report adds that Wolves have already identified their ideal Neves replacement in mind with Bristol City talent Scott wanted.
Wolves held talks with Scott’s representatives in January, seemingly laying the groundwork for a summer deal for the Robins wonderkid.

Tottenham want Ruben Neves… and Alex Scott
This news will be very interesting for Tottenham Hotspur, who appear to be interested in both Neves and Scott.
90Min report that Tottenham have asked to be kept informed on Neves and his situation heading into the summer.
One problem is that both Liverpool and Newcastle United also want Neves, alongside Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Tottenham may find this transfer battle a little tricky and the future of Neves is tied to another Spurs target.
Scott is the ideal replacement in Wolves’ eyes, but Tottenham are also interested in the Bristol City ace.
Transfer insider Dean Jones, who has been speaking to Give Me Sport about Scott’s future, claims that Tottenham are one of many teams to have made contact over a deal for the teenager.
Scott, 19, has been outstanding in Championship this season and is expected to cost at least £25million to prise away from Ashton Gate.
Tottenham may hope to land one of Neves or Scott to bolster their midfield options, but rival interest in Neves and Wolves targeting Scott may just leave them to miss out on both.
