According to The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning to make a late bid for Metz midfielder Boubacar Traore, who has been scouted by Tottenham Hotspur this season.

The Sun have reported that Wolves are planning to make a bid of £8 million for Traore before the January transfer window closes on Monday night.

Metz are willing to sell the 20-year-old midfielder, but the French club are looking for more in transfer fees.

Interestingly, it was The Sun who reported in October 2021 that Tottenham have been scouting the youngster.

The report at the time claimed that Tottenham scouts were impressed by the Mali Under-23 international midfielder, who had caught the eye of the club’s Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici.

Paratici is known to be a good judge of talents from his time at Juventus.

Would Traore be good for Wolverhampton Wanderers?

In our view, Traore would be a good signing for Wolves, especially for £8 million.

The midfielder is a regular in the Metz first-team squad, and given that he is only 20 years of age, we can safely say that he is only going to get better and develop in the coming years.

Traore has made six starts and 10 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
