Valencia will not let Carlos Soler go on the cheap.
Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Valencia’s Carlos Soler, report ESPN.
Their reported plan to buy Soler for £30 million in the summer could however be doomed to failure.
This is because Valencia have no intent to sell their prize asset for so cheap.
AS report that any club wanting to buy Soler will have to meet his release clause.
Amid interest from Barcelona, PSG and Manchester City earlier this month, AS reported: “Valencia are likely to remain steadfast in their determination to retain a player who has come through the ranks at Mestalla to become a key player in the side over the last few seasons and will refer any suitors this January or next summer to Soler’s 80-million-euro release clause.”
The 80 million Euros release clause equates to £69.6 million, a fee which would by far become Tottenham’s record ever spend.
If Spurs did pay up for Soler it would be a major statement, but it would be a big departure from their recent actions, with no players signed in over a year.
