Tottenham Hotspur have high hopes for Will Lankshear and the former Arsenal talent has already been training with Antonio Conte’s first team.

Tottenham didn’t make many headlines transfer deadline day but did secure an interesting signing.

Spurs swooped in to sign striker Will Lankshear from Sheffield United having been impressed with the 17-year-old.

The Examiner claimed that Tottenham were paying around £2.5million for Lankshear and the deal went through before the summer deadline.

Tottenham Hotspur have high hopes for Will Lankshear

Lankshear was actually released by Arsenal in January 2021 and Sheffield United were more than happy to snap him up.

After showing promise with the Blades, Tottenham handed the striker his dream move to Spurs.

Lankshear and his father are both huge Tottenham fans and pushed to make that transfer happen not long after being let go by the Gunners.

Lankshear enjoyed a great start as he bagged a hat-trick for Tottenham Under-18’s in just 20 minutes against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The hype has been building around Lankshear and it seems that Tottenham coaches are suitably impressed.

Football London report that Lankshear has been called up to first-team training at times in recent months.

First-team coaches have been taking a close look at Lankshear with the ultimate goal of making him a Premier League regular.

That may be a long way off for Lankshear but it’s clear that Tottenham staff believe he has that kind of potential.

The report notes that the 17-year-old may be needed for Tottenham’s preparations ahead of the Premier League restart.

Harry Kane, Richarlison and Son Heung-min are all still at the World Cup whilst Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett are both out on loan.

Antonio Conte may therefore need to utilise Lankshear in training with the former Arsenal talent seemingly making strides with his boyhood club.
