Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing Piotr Zielinski from Napoli this summer.

If Tottenham Hotspur are to sign Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski this summer, then they will have to change the midfielder’s mind over a Premier League move.

Zielinski has been linked with Liverpool for some time, but when asked about his future back in March, the Polish international was quick to refute any claims that he was about to leave Napoli.

He said: “The Premier League? Now I’m certainly thinking only about Napoli, there I am fine with many champions such as [Marek] Hamsik, [Pepe] Reina, [Jose] Callejon and [Raul] Albiol.

“Almost the whole team would say that I try to do everything for Napoli, they are a great team with fantastic fans, and it’s a beautiful city so I do not want to move.”

Spurs are now said to have the £25 million-rated Zielinski on their wishlist (Il Mattino), but the 23-year-old’s past comments to Football-Italia suggest that any deal could be tough to organise.

Zielinski has reportedly impressed Spurs’ scouts over the past campaign, with his performances in Napoli’s midfield catching the eye.

The talented midfielder has scored five goals and created seven assists in 36 Serie A appearances this past campaign.

If Zielinski was to join Spurs he would bolster Pochettino’s midfield options, which could be crucial in the upcoming campaign.

Spurs do not boast the same amount of depth of quality in their squad as many of their Premier League rivals, and Pochettino is keen to add to his team this summer.

Tottenham are yet to complete a signing in the transfer window to date.
