Jermaine Beckford has said on BBC Sport that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane should have had a penalty against Watford.

The former Leeds United striker believes that William Ekong’s challenge on Kane should have ended in a penalty for Tottenham.

The incident happened in the 27th minute.

Lucas Moura chipped the ball into Kane, and the Tottenham and England international striker went down under contact from Ekong.

The referee did not give a penalty, but BBC Sport pundit Beckford believes that it was a spot kick.

Despite that controversial call regarding Kane, Tottenham won the Premier League game against Watford in the end.

In our opinion, Tottenham were not great against the Hornets, but they got the job done.

And that is simply great for Spurs.

The result means that Antonio Conte’s side are now fifth in the Premier League table.

Tottenham are two points behind fourth-placed and North London rivals Arsenal and have two games in hand over them.
