Erik Lamela joined Tottenham Hotspur from AS Roma in the summer of 2013.

Tottenham Hotspur will trigger the option in Erik Lamela’s contract to retain his services until the end of the 2019-20 season, according to The Independent.
It has been reported that Tottenham have been impressed with Lamela’s return from long-term injury this season.

It is quite a smart decision from Spurs, and one that makes sense, given the quality and calibre of the Argentina international attacker.
The 26-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has played well on many occasions this season, and has underlined his importance to the team with two goals and three assists in just five Premier League starts.

Lamela, who earns £70,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, has had injury concerns at Tottenham since his move from AS Roma in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £25.8 million.
However, there is no doubt that the former River Plate and AS Roma star is a superb and hugely talented footballer who is set to reach his peak in the next two or three years, and Spurs are set to make a wise decision by tying him down to a new deal.
