Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to Ajax talent Donny van de Beek.

Spurs signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in the summer, spending a club record fee.
However, Van de Beek may be harder to tempt away than the Colombian.
Sanchez had only been at the club for one season when he moved to Spurs, while Van de Beek has come through their academy.

He even expressed his frustration at Sanchez moving to Spurs.
He told Goal in August: “A departure for Davinson would be very annoying, because he’s just a very important player for us.
“He is a very good defender, who we use well.”
Van de Beek made a public plea for Sanchez to stay which fell on deaf ears.

Whether he is ready to walk out on Ajax is very unclear, but it may be more tricky for Spurs to persuade him.
Van de Beek is a central midfielder, playing in a position where Tottenham are deeper than anywhere else in their squad.
If there are no first team assurances for the Ajax regular, he may decide that staying put is his best move.
