A round up of transfer stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
The Express claims Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen has been offered a new five-year deal to stay at the club.
Vertonghen had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, which now seems likely to fall through.
“Rumours will always be there – I just go back to Tottenham – Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, they say, but for the moment there is certainly no fire,” said the player.
The Daily Mail claims Tottenham have been offered Sporting Lisbon right-back Miguel Lopez on loan.
Lopes played for Lyon on loan last season and is reportedly seen as surplus to requirements at the Portuguese club.
The 27-year-old has made four appearances for the Portuguese national side.
Tottenham are thought to be closing on deals for Southampton pair Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin.
Rodriguez is a great additional attacking player for Spurs while Schneiderlin is rumoured to have snubbed Arsenal to link up with Mauricio Pochettino.
Schneiderlin is valued at around £27 million while Rodriguez could set Spurs back £15-18 million.
