A select round up of transfer news relating to Tottenham, including Gareth Bale, Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches.
The Mail reports that Gareth Bale has arrived in Spain prior to completing his potential world record transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid.
The story states that the Welshman will remain in Marbella until negotiations are complete, with Daniel Levy set to decide between two offers – one of £86million that will be paid in instalments and one up-front payment of £70million.
Either way, that is quite a profit for a player who cost just £10milion when he arrived from Southampton.
The Mail also have a report on the man set to replace Bale at White Hart Lane – Roma’s Erik Lamela.
The £25million move is set to be completed once the Italian club have signed a replacement for the 21-year-old.
And that won’t be the end of Spurs’ spending, with Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches set to complete his switch having seen the move initially scuppered by his club’s imprisoned owner.
A phone call from Gigi Becali earlier this summer seemed to have put pay to the deal, only for the Romanian club’s owner to have now given the move the green light.
Speaking last night, Chiriches’ agent said, “The club made money on the deal and I’m sure it will lead to a greater team. I cannot say the amount for which he is transferred, but it is very high. He will be the most expensive transfer in Steaua’s history.”
Reports claim the fee is in the region of £8million and the defender will complete his move next week.
