Stan Collymore has said that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy should hijack Chelsea’s move for Mauricio Pochettino.
The former Liverpool striker has written in CaughtOffSide that Levy needs to make contact with Pochettino now and bring back to Tottenham.
According to The Mirror, former Tottenham head coach Pochettino is set to become the new manager of Chelsea.
The Argentine manager is reportedly already looking at the current Chelsea and judging the players.
There is speculation that Levy did not even bother speaking to Pochettino about a potential return to Spurs.
During his time as head coach of Tottenham, the Argentine regularly lead the team to the Premier League top four and guided them to the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
Stan Collymore wants Chelsea manager target Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur
Collymore wrote: “I can’t believe Spurs haven’t tried to rival Chelsea for Mauricio Pochettino.
“He still hasn’t been confirmed as Chelsea’s new permanent boss, so if I was Daniel Levy I would go to him and say ‘we’ll offer you better terms, we’ll give you plenty of time and we’ll finally spend the money needed to bring in some top quality players’.

“I don’t know if Levy’s pride is stopping him from trying to re-hire Pochettino or not, I don’t think the pair ended on really bad terms, but I don’t think it was a particularly pleasant departure either.
“I am sure there is still some frustration on Pochettino’s part over the way he was treated and how his time in London came to an end.”
HITC Verdict: Unlikely to happen
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur are now unlikely to be able to hire Mauricio Pochettino now.
If the former Paris Saint-Germain boss was to become the new Tottenham manager, then a deal would have been struck by now.
We think that that particular ship has sailed.
It is time for Tottenham to look forward and hire another manager who can be just as good as Pochettino, if not better.
