Tottenham Hotspur have ‘no philosophy’ under Daniel Levy and just want to get in the top four, according Tim Sherwood.
Former Spurs boss Sherwood has been speaking to TalkSPORT about the situation in North London.
Antonio Conte looks set to lose his job as Tottenham manager a few weeks early.
Whilst expected to leave this summer, Conte’s exit could now be accelerated after creating a real mess.
Conte blasted his own players as selfish and incapable of playing under pressure after crumbling from 3-1 up against Southampton to draw 3-3.
The Italian’s position is now seem as untenable and a departure could be announced pretty soon.
That’s despite Tottenham being sat in fourth place, holding the last Champions League spot – which Sherwood claims is Levy’s ultimate goal.
Sherwood claims that there is ‘no philosophy’ at Tottenham under Levy and he has just one goal – get into the top four.
Sherwood notes that whilst Conte would want to win things, Levy is only interested in Champions League football over anything else.
“There is no philosophy. The philosophy is ‘get me in the top four, done,’” Sherwood said. “You have to say Antonio Conte has done his job. When he came to the club Daniel would’ve asked him what he wanted and Conte would’ve said he wanted to win something. But Daniel would’ve said, ‘Get me top four, that’s all I need you to do’,” he added.

Daniel Levy needs to bring an identity back to Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have never really recovered from sacking Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019.
The appointments since then just haven’t worked and it’s unclear just what Tottenham are trying to accomplish.
Moves for Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have felt like Tottenham attempting to prove they’re a big club by landing the huge names, even if they don’t fit Spurs.
Nuno Espirito Santo was just a terrible idea from minute one and this string of appointments since Pochettino leave Tottenham without an identity.
Levy has previously talked about the ‘Tottenham DNA’ and it’s now finally time to go for somebody who will develop young players and play attractive football – just as Pochettino did.
Whether that’s Pochettino himself or somebody else remains to be seen but Tottenham cannot keep making these appointments that lead to nowhere.
