Tottenham Hotspur are said to be targeting young players, who can immediately impact on their first-team.

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace may well by over before they have already started, if the Daily Mail’s reports on Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer plan are to be believed.

The Mail have suggested that Tottenham are currently looking to sign players who are at the beginning of the career, but already able to impact on their first-team.

Spurs want to bring in promising youngsters, who they can develop.

And, if that is to be the case, then long-term target Zaha surely won’t emerge on Spurs’ wishlist.

Zaha has long been linked with Tottenham, with the Daily Star suggesting Pochettino was still a fan of the player just last week, even though he felt the £75 million price-tag on the winger was excessive.

However, Zaha turns 27 later this year and he is entering the peak of his career, which wouldn’t fit Tottenham’s criteria.

There has been a widespread desire among the White Hart Lane crowd to see Zaha in a Spurs shirt for the past couple of seasons now.

But it seems that Spurs’ interest in Zaha may well be waining, with Pochettino seemingly looking at other options now.
