The Dutchman was denied a penalty despite what looked a clear handball from the Arsenal defender.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen was not happy at an incident involving Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny this week.

The Dutch striker was on international duty with the Netherlands earlier in the week – facing off against the likes of Paul Pogba and his Spurs captain Hugo Lloris.

He also faced off with Arsenal defender Koscielny. The Dutch lost the game 1-0 after Manchester United midfielder Pogba’s rasping 35-yard strike proved too hot for Everton goalie Maarten Stekelenburg to handle.

But Spurs’ striker Janssen was rightly aggrieved to not win a penalty in the game, when his strike at goal was handled by his north London rival.

Speaking to Voetbal International after the game the Tottenham striker was clearly vexed:

“I have no doubt in my mind, I think it was one hundred percent a penalty.

“If that is not a penalty, I do not know what is. I had the feeling that he was after us the whole game in one way or another. That will not have been aware, but he whistled certainly not to our advantage.

“You’re left empty-handed. That sucks, but you have to take out the positive things for the next matches. We have given little away today, just a shot from 25-metres in the first half. In the end we went for all or nothing play and we got some chances. How we played as a team today, we can be proud of.”

Spurs take on Arsenal in the Premier League for the first time this season in just under a month at the Emirates Stadium.

Harry Kane should be back fit for that game and Janssen is likely to have to settle for a place on the Tottenham bench when the 6th of November does roll around.

But he will no doubt be looking to get one over on Koscielny and the Gunners if given the opportunity.
