Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott has reacted on Twitter after inspiring Republic of Ireland’s under-21 side to victory last night.
Spurs prospect Parrott did his international prospects no harm over the latest international break, after scoring three times across two matches.
Parrott’s performance yesterday against Sweden was particularly impressive, as he netted two goals for his country after coming off the bench.
The Tottenham youngster was thrown on with Ireland 1-0 down, but wasted no time in hitting the back of the net.
Parrott first lashed a shot into the roof of the net, before racing clear in the final minutes and chipping the ball over the Sweden goalkeeper with a fine finish.
Mauricio Pochettino will surely have been impressed by the Tottenham academy graduate, who just continues to go from strength to strength.
Pochettino has already confirmed that Parrott is Spurs’s second choice at Spurs in terms of out and out strikers behind Harry Kane, and he must be pushing for a place in their match day squads now.
