Tottenham Hotspur want Stefan Posch with Fabio Paratici allegedly setting his sights on signing the Bologna defender ahead of Juventus.

That’s according to Calciomercato in Italy, who claim that Paratici wants to bring Posch to Tottenham.

Juventus are understood to be in the market for another centre back too and have also identified Bologna ace Posch as a target.

They also like Spezia ace Emil Holm, but Posch is a prime target for Juventus.

It’s suggested that Juventus could look to use Andrea Cambiaso – currently on loan at Bologna from Juve – to strike a deal.

Juve would seemingly allow Cambiaso to stay at Bologna for another season as part of a Posch deal, giving Tottenham real competition.

Who is Tottenham target Stefan Posch?

Posch, 25, was in the ranks of Sturm Graz and Admira Wacker in his native Austria before being poached by Hoffenheim in 2015.

Posch ended up making more than 125 appearances for Hoffenheim’s first team, proving to be a sensible capture as a teenager.

The defender moved on to Bologna in September, joining on loan with a mandatory purchase clause set at around €5million (£4.4million).

Bologna are now understood to be seeking around €12million (£10.5million) for Posch as they seek a quick profit.

Posch has been a centre back by trade in his career but has played more as a right back this term, notching two goals and one assist.

Tottenham may well view Posch as an option on the right side of their back three under Antonio Conte.

That could allow Cristian Romero to shift into the middle of defence, but Posch would surely be viewed as cover and competition for Romero.

Arsenal wanted Posch as a kid, and the defender told Spox that he was disappointed to miss out on the move to North London.

Tottenham could now offer him a Premier League move after all having been impressed with the Austrian defender this season.
