Tottenham Hotspur currently sit in third position in the Premier League table.
Mousa Dembele believes that the Spurs side are more mature this season, telling reporters how that is the big difference between now and last year, as quoted by Reuters.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men matched Chelsea in every department on Wednesday night, and looked every bit the genuine title challengers that they are expected to be.
And Dembele spoke to the media in the aftermath of his side’s fine victory, highlighting a key area where he believes Tottenham have made big strides this season, as quoted by Reuters:
Tottenham’s Harry Winks comes on as a substitute to replace Mousa Dembele
“That was the difference between now and then. Last time, and last year as well, we scored and then we changed our game, we tried to play different, we panicked more and today we were very adult, we were relaxed. Can Spurs catch Chelsea? I never think about this kind of thing. It’s just game by game and with the quality we have we can do whatever we want.”
Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele in action
The Belgian has been instrumental to Spurs’ success so far this season, and is widely considered to be the most talented all-round player in the squad.
His importance to the team has been highlighted during the games he has missed due to injury, and Tottenham fans will be hoping that he stays fit for the remainder of the season.
They currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, just seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and a good run of results over this next month could push them even closer to the top.
