Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko speaks out on Marseille links.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko says that transfer links to Marseille this summer were down to them, and not him.
Sissoko’s future was the subject of speculation this summer but he said there was no angling to get away on his part.

The midfielder told Footmercato: “We know the market. We talk about a lot of players and clubs. After me personally, I never said anything in the media. They are the ones who made the noise. There was a small interest, but nothing concrete.
“Their work is progressing. I wish them good luck. Maybe the Marseille project might have pleased me. But as I said before, today I’m not a player from Marseille. My head is focused on Tottenham.”

Sissoko has earned his place back in the Tottenham team this season and gained the trust of manager Mauricio Pochettino, which it appeared he did not have last season.
The France international scored for Spurs against Huddersfield at the weekend, his first strike for the club.
Marseille were put off by Tottenham’s high asking price with the Premier League side keen to recoup as much of the £30 million they spent on him as possible.
The French side sit in third place in Ligue 1, but are already six points behind runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
