He was culpable for playing Ajax onside for Donny van de Beek’s decisive goal.
So it was unsurprising that Trippier was graded as Tottenham’s worst performer on BBC Sport‘s fan voted player ratings.
Trippier was graded at just 3.5 out of 10, the lowest of any player.
Dele Alli fared little better, at just 3.6, while Victor Wanyama was graded at 4/10.
It said a lot about Tottenham’s performance that substitute Moussa Sissoko was voted as their best player at 5.9/10.
Ajax star and goalscorer Donny van de Beek’s performance was voted at 8/4/10.
Trippier’s performance was not a surprise.
He has struggled throughout 2019 and his slump is concerning.
