Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier is the man of the moment for England.

Trippier came through City’s academy but his path to first team football was blocked and he was sold to Burnley.

He earned a move to Tottenham and is currently starring at the World Cup for England, as one of the tournament’s best players so far.
Trippier said: ““All of us have our own journeys. I was let go at City, but I always believed I could play at the top level. It has taken longer than expected and I have had to be patient and wait for my opportunity.
“At Tottenham it took two years for me to break into the team, but I knew the opportunity would come.”

Trippier went on to thank manager Mauricio Pochettino for believing in him, setting him up for international success.
City ended up in need of a right-back, and Trippier actually helped them out.
His emergence at Tottnham gave Spurs the incentive to cash in on Kyle Walker.
City went on to win the Premier League last season, so it isnt like they are worse off for it in a football sense, but they could have saved alot of money if they had held onto Trippier.
