Tottenham star sought to clarify a situation late in the game which could have repercussions.

England midfielder Dele Alli has attempted to dismiss his actions late in England’s win against Slovakia at Wembley.
Alli was seen on camera sticking his middle finger up in the direction of the referee in the 2-1 victory.
He was not carded for the offence and it is not known if the referee saw the incident, but if it features in his match report then Alli could face a fine or even a suspension from UEFA.

Alli has sought to down play any brewing controversy, by insisting it was simply a joke with his former Spurs teammate Kyle Walker, now of Manchester City, and that it was not aimed at the referee.
Alli will hope this is the end of it, and really it should be a very inconsequential matter, but Alli may be a little nervous that the referee could have taken it ‘the wrong way’.
His explanation may even give the official pause for thought, and really this is one England drama Alli and the team can do without.
England did well to bounce back from going a goal down thanks to strikes from Eric Dier and Marcus Rashford and are top of their World Cup qualifying group with 20 points already.
For Alli and Dier it was a big night… a win at Wembley. More of the same is required with their club over the coming campaign.
