Where could Danny Rose end up after Tottenham?

Danny Rose could be set to depart Tottenham. The Telegraph report Mauricio Pochettino is set to leave the left-back off the club’s pre-season tour.

This is because Spurs wish to sell Rose, but the England international may find he is running out of options.

Spurs would be extremely fortunate to recoup £30 million, with smart clubs decreasingly likely to invest big money in players close to 30.

Manchester United are one of these, with the Red Devils previously linked. Rose would have to settle for competing with Luke Shaw, but United have Diogo Dalot to provide cover on both flanks.

Manchester City are unlikely to be interested despite selling Fabian Delph. Benjamin Mendy is viewed as their top option, and they have re-signed 22-year-old left-back Angelino this summer after a successful season at PSV.

Liverpool too would not be interested due to Andrew Robertson, while Arsenal and Chelsea are no-go’s for Rose.

Of the best of the rest, Everton have Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines, while Leicester have Ben Chilwell and Wolves have Spanish international Jonny Otto.

None of these clubs would be looking to pay a premium fee Tottenham want for a back-up. At least it does not seem likely.

The defender’s best bet may be to move abroad like Kieran Trippier. In the Premier League the exit route could lead to nowhere.
