Michael Dawson has said on Sky Sports News (12:25pm, December 26, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has been “incredible” under Antonio Conte at Spurs.

The former Tottenham central defender has been impressed by how Davies has been playing under Conte.

The Spurs Ambassador has been stunned by how the Wales international left-back has become a key figure in Conte’s back-three system.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur’s Ben Davies

Dawson said about Davies: “Since he has been there under Antonio Conte, he has been incredible.

“He has come from nowhere. He didn’t play under Nuno, he didn’t play under Jose, he has brought him in as a left centre-half.”

The Antonio Conte effect

Ben Davies is actually a very good defender and is quite consistent.

Now, we do not think that the Welshman is world class, but over the years, he has quietly gone about his business at Tottenham.

The 28-year-old joined Spurs back in the summer of 2014 when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge.

Davies has grown and developed at Spurs and is now an important member of the team.

In our opinion, the 28-year-old will play an important role for Tottenham in their quest to finish in the Premier League top four this season.

Ben Davies has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season.

The Tottenham no. 33 has provided one assist in those games.
