Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has been backed for a huge move to Manchester United by compatriot Park Ji-sung.
What has Park Ji-sung said about Son Heung-min?
Speaking to Goal, former United wide man Park suggested that Son has proven he is good enough for United.
Park did though note that there is a ‘minor issue’ – not that Tottenham wouldn’t sell Son, but more that he couldn’t take number seven off Cristiano Ronaldo!
Park added that other South Korean talents Hwang Hee-chan or Lee Kang-in could make sense for United.
“He has already proved himself in the Premier League and I believe he’s good enough to do very well at United,” said Park. “The only minor issue would be he may not get his favourite No.7 shirt as Ronaldo is already there!”
“But if I had to pick someone other than Son, I would say either Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves or Mallorca’s Lee Kang-in, who both have good potential as players,” he added.
Park was something of a trailblazer for South Korean players in the Premier League. He and Lee Young-pyo both arrived in 2005 as the first South Koreans to play in England’s top flight.
Since then, there have been 12 more South Koreans in the Premier League – including Son.
Park was so loved at United that he would no doubt love to see compatriot Son at Old Trafford too – but it just can’t happen.

Son is just as important to Tottenham as Harry Kane
You can maybe argue that Son is actually even more important, especially this season.
Kane hasn’t been at his best this season with just one Premier League goal to his name.
Look at Son though; six goals and two assists in 13 Premier League outings.
The £22million paid to Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 now looks like a ridiculous bargain for Tottenham.
Not only is Son a fan favourite at Tottenham, but he is also one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League, the Europe, even the world.
Tottenham just can’t afford to sell Son, so whilst Park may fancy seeing him at United, Daniel Levy just has to say no.
