Michael Owen has said on BT Sport 1 (10:41pm, February 10, 2022) that Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min could be key in head coach Antonio Conte’s quest to finish in the Premier League top four this season.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker has backed Tottenham to claim the fourth and final Champions League spot in the league table this season.

Owen believes that Tottenham’s star striker Harry Kane is getting back to his best.

The BT Sports pundit has added that Son will also be key for Spurs.

The Englishman believes that if the £22 million South Korea international forward (The Guardian) is fit and firing, then Tottenham will get top four.

Owen said on BT Sport 1 (10:41pm, February 10, 2022), as transcribed by The Daily Mail: “You can make a case for any (of those four sides finishing fourth). It could literally be any of them. I’m going to go for Tottenham if they keep their big players fit.

“(Striker Harry) Kane is starting to get back to the Kane of old, if they can keep Son fit… (manager Antonio) Conte looks like he’s turning it around a little bit at Tottenham.

“It’s a toss of a coin. It’s going to be a great race for fourth, it’s going to keep us entertained.

“Let’s hope the title race is open as well until the end of the season. Any of those four, I couldn’t really argue but I’m just going to go with Tottenham.”

Tottenham Hotspur could get Premier League top four

In our view, Tottenham certainly have a great chance of finishing in the Premier League top four at the moment.

Yes, Spurs lost to Southampton in the Premier League in midweek, but we cannot ignore the positive signs and results under Conte in recent weeks.

Moreover, Tottenham are four points behind fourth-placed and London rivals West Ham United and have three games in hand on them.

Son has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 18 Premier League matches for Tottenham so far this season.
