Tottenham Hotspur beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 last night to secure their progress to the next round of the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have slated Fernando Llorente after his appearance off the substitutes’ bench against Borussia Dortmund last night.
Llorente was handed a late cameo, as Spurs looked to close the game out in Germany.
With Tottenham 2-1 up, Llorente was thrown on by Mauricio Pochettino, to try and help the Lilywhites get over the line.
And Llorente was presented with the perfect opportunity to seal the three points, when he raced through on goal.
However, the Spaniard completely missed his opportunity, as he took a huge touch and collided with the goalkeeper, rather than simply slotting the ball beyond him.
Llorente has still not scored for Tottenham, and there are a considerable number of Lilywhites fans who feel he is worse than Vincent Janssen.
Llorente was always facing a tough task to dislodge Harry Kane, but his performances have done little to show he is worthy of featuring more regularly.
Despite Llorente’s miss, Tottenham still held on to win the contest, and sealed their qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
