Manchester United are said to be interested in signing Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur.

United are said to be determined to sign Alderweireld, and will re-ignite their interest in the Belgian in the January transfer window.
Bailly is believed to be on Tottenham’s wishlist, but Spurs shouldn’t trade in Alderweireld for him.
Alderweireld may only have months left on his contract, which means Spurs may not actually get the Belgian’s true value.
But they do have the option of extending his current deal, which would mean that he has a release clause of £25 million.

Although that clause would almost certainly be triggered, Spurs would be better off with the money than Bailly.
The United defender just doesn’t seem like a good fit for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, given his lack of ability in possession.
And Spurs should ignore United’s offer in January, unless cash is given to them, instead of Bailly.
