Tottenham Hotspur are said to be considering making moves for Andre Gray and Josh King.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Josh King is unsure about a move to Tottenham Hotspur – as he doesn’t want to play second-fiddle to Harry Kane.
Any striker Spurs sign this summer is likely to be brought in as back-up, due to Kane’s importance to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
And King is believed to be loathed to join Spurs, simply to sit on the bench for the Lilywhites’ most important matches.
The 25-year-old is a target for Pochettino, but if King is unsure about a move to North London then Tottenham should look elsewhere.
Spurs have a huge amount of appeal now, after challenging for the title in the last two seasons, and they shouldn’t struggle to attract players this summer.
If King does have concerns about the switch then Spurs shouldn’t wait for him to make his mind up for too long, and Pochettino should already be considering other options.
Of Tottenham’s other transfer targets, Burnley’s Andre Gray could now be the most appealing option.
Gray possesses a very similar skill-set to King, and although he is not quite as proven as the Norwegian, he is still a very exciting prospect.
Gray would bring pace and power to Spurs’ front line and would surely be open to the idea of joining up with the Lilywhites.
Gray is already in demand, with West Ham United said to be tracking the £15-rated front-man by the Daily Mirror, meaning Spurs cannot afford to wait for too long, or they could miss out.
And if King is not convinced with a move to Spurs, then that should be all the encouragement Pochettino needs to make Gray his top priority.
