Tottenham Hotspur should make a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore in the summer transfer window.
It was reported that Tottenham were looking at Pastore as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, who at the time had yet to complete his move to Real Madrid.
Wales international winger Bale eventually switched to Madrid and Pastore remained at PSG, but it is now time for Spurs to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old who has won the Ligue 1 title no fewer than four times.
The Argentina international attacking midfielder has not progressed as much as he should have when he moved from Palermo back in the summer of 2011, but the 28-year-old remains a very gifted player who would enhance the quality of the current Tottenham team.
PSG endured a disappointing 2016-17 campaign, and one suspects that there could be changes at the Parc des Princes in the summer transfer window.
This could give Tottenham the opportunity to sign Pastore on a cut-price deal. The former Palermo star suffered with injuries last season, and he could find it tough to establish himself in the starting lineup next season.
Spurs will be aiming to win the Premier League as well as progress to the knockout rounds of the Champions League next season.
Pastore would be a smart signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. The Argentine is a big-game player, scores goals, creates chances, and his experience in the Champions League would be invaluable for the North London outfit.
